The process consists in an acurate reporduction of writings, drawings, photo= graphy or any print dir-etly on paper, without the help of photographic equipment. it is extensibly used by government agencies, in the various tranches of industry, in Universities and Librariese It is also used very importantly as oscillograms, for seismographs, for detecting oil deposits ana for cardiograms e in 1948, haloid announced a completely new ana revolutionary process, calied Xerography. it consists of taking an image on a sheet by “dry photography", by the use of electrostatic forces ana various chemicals. ‘the picture thus taken can be reperdauced in a matter of minutes. haloid has more than ten patents to protect this process and has, since 1948, been active in producing equipment and supplies for this new techniquee ‘Haloid is spending yearly about half a million dollars on research and has feceived grants from the government for the same purposes ‘these studies have becn mainly undertaken for the creation of new and more efficient technical procedures and machines, especial} 6S. ¢
