Mr. Jacobs has succeeded in constructing a plan of the Jewry, and in identifying the sites of: the dwellings of the principal families. Mr. Davis has translated many Hebrew title-deeds and other documents. The Jewry seems to have been on the north side of Cheap; the streets occupied being Lade Lane, Cateaton Street, now Gresham Street, and a corner of Lothbury ; while Lawrence Lane on the west and the Old Jewry on the east formed two other boundaries.
