ELŐSZÓ
FOREWORD
A Hungart Egyesület könyvsorozata idén már 44 kötetesre bővült. Mikor 2007-ben útjára indítottuk
ezt a hiánypótló sorozatot magunk sem gondoltuk, hogy az az évek során a vizuális szakma
egyik lényeges és meghatározó kiskönyvtárává válik. Bár a teljesség igénye nélkül tudunk csak
keresztmetszetet adni a kortárs magyar vizuális szakma kiemelkedő alkotóiról, de a válogatás
szempontja minden esetben a kvalitás, a kiemelkedő szakmai tevékenység. Így kerültek be a so¬
rozatba az egykori Hungart-ösztöndíjasok, majd ennek megszűnésével kiterjesztettük a váloga¬
tást a szakma teljes spektrumára. Anyagi forrásaink és lehetőségeink évente 3-5 könyv kiadását
teszik lehetővé, ami komoly feladatot és szép kihívást jelent kis szerkesztőségünk számára.
Az évről évre kiadott könyveinket egyesületünk díjátadásán és beszámoló kiállításán, ennek
megszűntével az utóbbi években az Art Market Budapest képzőművészeti vásáron mutatjuk be.
A művészeknek megjelent könyveik mellett kiállítást is szervezünk. Célunk továbbra is a kor¬
társ vizuális művészek helyzetbe hozása a hazai és a nemzetközi művészeti szcénában és a
műtárgykereskedelemben is.

The book series of Hungart Society arrived at 44 volume this year. When we launched this
much-needed series in 2007, none of us thought that it would become such a significant and
substantial directory of the visual profession. Even though it is not possible to give a complete
overview of the most important artists of contemporary Hungarian visual arts, each volume
presents a carefully selected artist of extraordinary quality. Thus, the series first featured
the recipients of the Hungart fellowship, and when it came to an unfortunate end, the scope
was extended the whole community of visual artists. Our financial resources allow for the
publication of 3-5 volumes annually, which provides an exciting challenge for the members of
our small editorial staff. The volumes used to be introduced at the awards ceremony and survey
exhibition of the society, and in the last years, after the ceremony could not be continued, at
the Art Market Budapest fine arts trade show. The society also organises an exhibition for the
artists featured in the series. Our goal remains to provide opportunities to the representatives
of contemporary Hungarian visual arts, both in the Hungarian and international art scene, as
well as with art dealers.
