The House of Hohenzeliern is little knewn in its present representatives ; furthermore Prussia is unpopular and it is unthinkable that the German states would ever again accept Prussian supremacy. Ali the other dynasties are similarly handicapped. There is but one that emerges mere and more : the Braunschweig and Luneburg dynasty, the Hannovrian Royal House. Its present head, the Duke Ernst August is a man universally respected and loved, He is trusted by almost all the othera, and, despite his Protestant faith, liked by beth Catholics and Pretegtants fer his truly and devotely Christian approach, Close te his Hannovrian peaple he has nevertheless maintained great dignity. Thus leading German Monatchists feel, that if all the German Princes eould be breught te rally around him, the Monarchist impetus would become very great indeed in Germany. This seems te be reasonable. If such a possibility would arise, great and surprising ehanges might occur in the ecenstitutional life of Germany. Monarchy is still a very great possibility in that country, especially since a number of Soeialists shew clearly their sympathy tewards a selutiens which they hepe will prevent tie rise of anether Hitler, As to the outlook of the coming elections, it is as yet early to make a full forecast. Still the impression is now prevailing, that Adenaver has regained a lot of ground and that if elections where held today, they would return the same majority with some reduetion. As it stands today the Communists would lose every seat and se would the Neo Nazis. The Seeialists would gain the Com munist seats and a few Neo Nazi ene's. The CDU - CSU weuld reughly maintain its present status, with the CDU lesing a few while the and the WAV. The FDP weuld lese quite q number of seats, mostly to the BHE. The Germ,n Party, the Deutsche Partei, would gain quite substantially from the FDP as well as from Independents and some from the Nee-Nazis. All in all then, the present eoalition would retain its majority, might increase it if the BHE weuld decide te join the Gevernement. We are therefore far frem the gloomy predictions of a while age, that the Secialists are beund te prevail next year. It is on this background that Germany is contemplating the World scene. This contemplation is based eon good information, since Germany has been able ún the past year to build up, without to much publicity, a first-class diplomatic and Censular Service which keeps the governement admirably posted.
