XeAg5,0ct - page two = an immoral agreement was passed between the two ruling parties ¢ the Creditanstalt would be nanded over to an administration of foliwers of the People's Party 3 the Lunderbank would be run by Socialists, Thus Dr, Joham became President of the Creditanstalt end Dr, Landertshanmer director of the Ltnderbank, Recently Minister Waldbruaner demanded both Banks for his Ministry, arguing that as nationalized enterprises they should rightly belong unéer his administration, This was done mostly, since the two afore mentioned banks handle the credit of over 807 of Austria's induse try. Would they be Socialist-controlled, the whole industry would be in the hands of the party, especially since Waldbrunner is known to have introduced into Austria's ecomny partisan, almost tatelitarian forms, Alamed by this bid for power, the Socialist Director of the L&iderbenk, Lendcirtshamer, found his courage and in a public chalienge to his party resigned from the Socin= list Party memberships permitting it at he sume time to be KNOW, that one of the major reasons of his mesimation was uacthical demands made on him by the party. The Socialists demande’ immedis agely Lendertshanmer's head, but found a strong opposition on the part of the People's Party, which with the help of the rightist VdU was able to gain a parliamentary majority for its stand. These men, among them the officials Thibodeaux, Rothblum and Mondschein, have indirectly encouraged this reckiess campaign of the Socialists, and thus given the extremists of the party even more strength and powers The second move in this reekless bid has now begun 3 it is the accusation against the Peovie's Party of being a harbour of Fascists and Reactionaries. This campaign, which is especially directed against the Party President Ing, Raub, is curried out to the great encouragement of the Soviet Union, which finds in the speaches of the Socialists ammunition for its own demendse To some degree nevertheless, this campaign is buck= firing. The best example has been the Socialist Attemep General of Austriay Dr. fschadek, who had been very vocel in this cam though he himself nad been often attecked of having intervened in ta course of justice, In the middle of September he Was, under ee
