The new Government of Nguyen Van Tam can be considered as a great and grave political move by Emperor Bao Dai. Nguyen Van Tam is a loyal and devoted servant of his Emperor. His appointment means that the Emperor has chosen to increase the fighting will of his country at a time when important new battles seem to loom on the horizon. Because it is to be expected that within a matter of weeks a large-scale Communist offensive will set in in the Tonking Delta. Tis offensive may be of crucial impor tance. It is therefore reassuring that control of public affairs in Viet Nam is getting into strong and reliable hands, at a time wea critical fights might start. Under Nguyen Van Tam's Government, it is certain that whatever the puewiehis on the battlefield, Viet Nam will fight on. 34.
